The Polling Method
IISA Assessment Consultancy & Research Centre is experienced in doing polling to gather opinions, attitudes, beliefs, behaviors, and other social information from individual samples.
This polling serves many purposes, and can be done by phone, mail, website, or personal encounters. Unlike census, in which all members of population are studied, polling gathers information from only a portion of interesting population, even with a sample size that depends on the purpose of research.
In a polling, sample is carefully selected using the method of selection that ensures equal opportunities between people of different classes (social, economic, political, etc.). In this way, the results are reliable and are projected from sample to larger population.
Information is as well collected through a standardized procedure so that each individual is asked about the same question in the same way. The purpose of polling is not to describe the specific individuals who, incidentally, become parts of the sample, but to obtain a composite profile of the population.
